Beck’s ‘The Daily Different’ written by Euro RSCG

Meet Darius Davies from The Daily Different. He got back to me today after my request for him to defend his honour. You can find the entire reply here but here is an excerpt.

Thank you for the kind invite to defend my honour – ooo I feel a bit like Desdemona from Othello when you refer to me that way… cheeky! I also want to thank you for checking out the Daily Different but more importantly thank you for referring to me as “rad” and intimating that I could be a male model. Genius! Thanks, you made my day. Not even my own mum would have paid me a compliment like that.

You’re very welcome Darius. And I am glad we can agree that a) flash blogs are bad and b) VLC is indeed the daddy of all media players. However…

The IP address your email came from states you work at Euro RSCG. A quick Google search shows that Euro RSCG 4D hired you to write for the Daily Different blog. A quick Facebook search shows that you are also repping Beck’s on their fan page and like Giselle. And a quick Youtube search brought me the dashing video of you above. In case you were wondering, I also love L.B.C. (like the rest of Beck’s drinkers, BURN)

The fact is, my noble friend, that Beck’s is your client and they can and will dictate your posts if/when they want to; they pay your salary after all. I have nothing against you personally but what little integrity I have left forces me to point out that this was indeed an appendage to an agency creative pitch and that, while you are a good comedian in your own right, you have accepted literary shackles in return for a paying gig.

The only other thing I will intimate is that I like free beer, a lot. Hook a brother up?
