Stella Artois’s new digs

The boys over at Lowe have reminded us all of just what Flash can do when it is in the hands of some serious talent. Take Stella’s new Website for instance. I know the new hot trend is to add live action video into your websites but I think that Lowe has taken it to a whole new level by integrating the video right into the navigation of the site. But I seriously can’t do it justice, check it out for yourself.

The downside is that you need some serious horsepower and a fast broadband connection just to play it. At the risk of alienating some of their consumers, they have gone for the best work possible. Always commendable…

Another downside is that the people that go to beer sites go to find out about the beer and that’s about it. From my experience of living in Halifax, people go to the Alexander Keith’s website to do one of 3 things.

1) Find out when Keith’s birthday is. (It’s October 5th, party!)

2) Find out about the awesome brewery tour.

3) god forbid, figure out who this Alexander Keith guy is anyway.

Now that is a bad example because the Keith’s site misses out on all the jazz going on over at the Stella site but you still have to consider it. However, I have a feeling this website may change that tradition.
